Is this a secured site for online payment? Yes.
What is the cut-off date? Sept. 1st, 2011
Can my child play up? Yes, depending on space, the playing ability and child size – contact Kelley Stonis, Director.
Can my child play down? No, with the exception of a doctor’s certification that this child is under normal physical development
My child is waiting to get accepted for varsity basketball/NYO, but I would like to go ahead and sign up now to secure the spot just in case we don’t make it to high school varsity/NYO. You can register on the day you are qualified for, but there is a deadline for refund and cancellations. Refund and cancellation policies can be viewed online: Refunds are subject to $20 processing fee. No refunds after the teams have been drafted (November 18).
My child has practice (examples: violin, piano, ballet, cheerleading, basketball, baseball, etc) and would like to make sure there will be no conflict with basketball.We do not guarantee all requests. We can give you last year’s schedule, but that schedule could change for this upcoming season. You may enter a request during your online registration, but be aware that when you request specific day/time of practice and at the same time request to be with a friend, both requests may not be fulfilled or fulfilling one request will cancel the other. Please do not enter more than one name to be with a team, but you may use “OR” instead of “AND”.
How high is the goal for 5-6 league? 8′
How high is the goal for 7 & 8 league? Girls is 8′ and Boys is 9′
How high is the goal for 9-10 league? Girls is 9′ and Boys is 10′
How high is the goal for 11-12 league? 10′
What is the size of the ball for 5-6 league? Junior size, 27.5”
What is the size of the ball for 7-8 league? Women’s size, 28.5 ”
What is the size of the ball for 9-10 league? Women’s size, 28.5 ”
Do 7-8 Boys & Girls play half or full courts? Age 5-8 play half courts while age 9-15 play full courts.
How many are there in a team? Up to 10 players
How often are the practices? Once per week (except for 5-6 leagues who practice before their games)
I have been participating in your programs for many years. Does that make me a member? No. Membership refers to being a member of the Northside United Methodist Church, not participation in Sports and Recreation programs.
My kids have participated in your basketball camps before. Does that qualify us as returning players? No. Returning players refer to basketball league only, although not in consecutive years.
I have a child who is a returning player. Can I register my other child now who is not a returning player? Yes. Siblings of returning players can register on the same day.
I would like to pay for my registration in person. Can you hold my check until I know for sure that we can participate?No. Checks will be processed and applied immediately and will be subject to terms of cancellation and refunds. If a balance remains until November 4, the registration will remain in incomplete status and will prevent us from drafting your child to a team. If we do not hear from you at that time, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating and your incomplete registration will be dropped.
If my spouse or I volunteer as a coach, will this qualify us to register on Sept. 29th?Only if you are a confirmed coach through Clayton Schmitt, then you can register as a coach. Please register online, select BASKETBALL COACH REGISTRATION and we will give you permission to register on the first day of registration, Sept. 29th. Registering as a coach does not guarantee a coaching position.
We are going to be out of town on our registration date. Can we register early?You can only register on the day you are qualified for. Please do your best to access the website before you leave town. If you have no access to a computer or internet, please give us a call so that we can help you.
